York Diocese Women Clergy

Rev’d. Brenda joined with 70 women clergy from York Diocese this morning.

Archbishop Stephen affirmed us in our ministry and is committed to helping us achieve equality with men in our calling. Archbishop Stephen reminded us of the women at the foot of the cross, watching and waiting, Mary Magdalene being the first person to witness Jesus’ resurrection and called the first apostle.

An affirming morning 😊

Christmas Tree Festival 2022

All the sponsors’ trees have gone to their new homes for the rest of the festive season.

We’ve had an incredible week and loved every minute of it! The trees were beautiful, Narnia was awesome and the church was uplifted by laughter, wonder and community spirit.

It’s been a joy to welcome everyone, sponsors and supporters, and we hope you’ve all enjoyed it as much as we have.

A massive thank you to the people of Ingleby Barwick for supporting the festival, and to all the hard working volunteers behind the scenes who helped to make it run so smoothly. Oh and of course to Rev Brenda, for having the crazy idea in the first place😂

Christmas Tree Festival

WOW, what an amazing first day at the festival! A massive thank you to everyone who came today and to everyone who helped to make the day so special 🎄⭐️🎄

If you couldn’t make it today, or you’d like to come again, we’re open tomorrow too!

Sunday 12noon – 4pm.

We also have a service of celebration and light at 6pm, with readings and carols followed by mulled wine and mince pies!

📷 Many thanks to Garry Size for the fab photos!

Harvest Festival

What a wonderful Harvest Festival Parade Service 🌾

It was lovely to bless the new Squirrel’s flag and celebrate harvest together!

Huge thanks to everyone who has donated to our food collection for Thornaby Food Bank.

New Font for St Francis

Here is the journey our new font has taken in the last two days. From St. Timothy’s, Hemlington to us at St. Francis of Assisi, Ingleby Barwick. Huge Thankyou to everyone involved!

‘It seems to add even more beauty and wonder to our place of worship, honouring the sacrament of baptism and the God we love and serve’, says our vicar, Rev’d. Brenda Forrester.
