Digital Saints:

Rev’d Nik Stevenson
Pioneer Minister
Ingleby Barwick

Rev’d Nik Stevenson

Nik is our Ordained Pioneer Minister, his role is to develop new worshipping communities in Ingleby Barwick.

He moved to Ingleby in June 2019 with his wife Shelly. Together they run an online community called Digital Saints where they share Night Prayer three nights per week.

They had an increased digital presence during the pandemic offering midday reflections and meditations along with Community meals, reflective services and pub quizzes.

Nik works as Chaplain to the local Church of England Secondary School, All Saints, and regularly works with the other schools in the area.

He is a keen runner and run leader with Orchard Eagles Running Club where he has been supporting and encouraging runners of all ages and abilities.

At Easter Nik led a 14-mile stations of the cross pilgrimage to Roseberry topping.  They would run a mile, then stop to reflect on a station before continuing to the summit of Roseberry topping, while digitally streaming each reflection.

Nik is a qualified Mental Health First Aider and has experience working as a chaplain in this sector. He often uses running or walking as a way of drawing alongside folk to care and encourage them as they cope with all that life throws at them.

Currently Nik is looking after Baptisms and Weddings at St Francis Church as well as leading one service a month, he is looking forward to working alongside the new Vicar to see the love of Jesus spread across Ingleby.
